During the late C18th and early C19th the fan becomes an ideal instrument of communication in an age in which freedom of speech for women was absolutely restricted.
The main gestures and their respective meanings that together configured what was known as the ‘language of the fan’.
Under the guidance of the Queen of Hearts, develop your fan skills, learn to talk with your eyes and remember, subtle actions speak louder than words.
