The Regency Experience is an experience like no other. We provide bespoke Regency costumes for you to dress up in and parade around Bath while taking in it’s wonderful heritage. Costumes can be delivered to your accommodation or for the ultimate experience you can visit our studio in Frome where one of our expert team will be on hand to help you pick the perfect costume. Our studio is also the perfect place for taking some photos ahead of your trip to Bath.

Do I need to know anything about Regency history?

Not at all. This experience is designed for complete beginners. We guide you
through everything and ensure you feel comfortable and confident.

Regency etiquette

Women should wear pumps rather than heels and men should not wear boots to balls or dances. Women’s hair is often worn up with delicate ringlets. A bonnet is essential for daywear.

Will the costume fit me properly?

Yes. All costumes are carefully selected and fitted based on your measurements. Comfort and authenticity are equally important to us.

We’re human and sometimes we get it wrong; usually from incorrect measurements! In this case we will alter the ill fitting item/costume where possible or we’ll provide you with an alternative item/costume.

Are there any additional items I can hire?

The costumes are complete with everything that is essential to the look. If you would like to hire men’s boots, these are available for an additional £18 (including VAT).

Are there any days that I cannot do the Regency Experience?

We offer the Regency Experience nearly every day of the year and can deliver and collect your costumes out of hours and on weekends. The only time of year we do not offer the Regency Experience is during September during the Jane Austen Festival in Bath. Costumes are still available for hire from us during this time.
